Movie night : Guerreras

Guerreras tells the little-known story of the female climbing community in Colombia and invites the audience to reflect on how their own identity intersects with their climbing experience, while providing insight into the reality of an underrepresented population in the climbing world: Latin American female climbers.

Guerreras allows climbers from around the world to come together around common themes such as multiracial identities, Latin American histories, femininity, and a shared love of climbing.

Although this story focuses on the Colombian female climbing community, audiences around the world can relate to its universal themes. Topics such as motherhood, expectations of women, balancing life and climbing, body image standards, performance pressure, machismo, and community empowerment will be explored.

This film promotes international solidarity in the field of climbing and will help climbers become more aware of global issues.
