Winter Danga (Dance & Yoga) – End-of-year ritual
December 12 @ 19:30 – 21:30
“Aparigraha/ Non-attachment”
Guided by Mylène
“Aparigraha (non-attachment)”
As the light dims a little more each day during these cold late autumn days, perhaps a small “lamp” is lit within us. And invites us there, within us.
In this December ritual, the small lamp chosen to explore our journey through the evening will be “Aparigraha.” This is one of the founding ethical principles of yoga, as presented in Patanjali’s seminal work, the Yoga Sutras.
Aparigraha invites us to reflect on the notion of non-attachment, detachment, renunciation, and non-accumulation.
This applies to possessions, emotions, goals…
We are, of course, human and vibrant. It is not a question of turning ourselves into a blank slate. But through “Aparigraha,” Yoga invites us to practice “letting go” and accepting change, in order to invite a space of peace within ourselves.
Welcome, in Danga mode, we will symbolically breathe out the year that is coming to an end together, perhaps to make room for the year that will soon begin.
DANGA (DANCE & YOGA) … What is it ?
An alternative method of teaching yoga developed by Mylène and accredited by the American Yoga Alliance in 2013.
An extroverted way of practicing introspection.
A way of thinking while exercising.
A sense of humor and the sacred at the same table.
Through multiple musical landscapes, a reflective and dynamic journey serving the multi-angle exploration of a central theme, using asanas, pranayamas and danced pranayamas, non-codified steps, targeted improvisations, sober sounds and powerful music.
Constantly at work: A search for freedom through constraints (offered as levers for concentration).
