Outdoor Top-Rope Transition PLUS
This course is aimed at climbers who are already certified in indoor belaying and who wish to acquire the knowledge and skills needed to climb safely and independently in the outdoors.
Duration: 16 hours (2 days)
Location: Parc régional Val-David-Val-Morin Laurentides (Google Maps)
Prerequisite: belaying test in a climbing gym
Age: 16 years old + (children from 9 to 15 must be accompanied by an adult)
Knowing how to handle belays, knots, abseiling and belay release will enable you to confirm what you’ve learned following the awareness course.
For each day, time will be divided equally between theory and practice under the instructor’s supervision. When you’re on the wall, there’ll be time to see some climbing techniques that can’t be practised indoors.

- Children (12 to 15 ans) : 175 $ + taxes / participant + 22 $ access taxes
Climbing shoes are included in the cost of the course.

- 1 climbing harness
- 1 pair of climbing shoes
- 1 self-belaying lanyard (Dyna-Connexion, P.A.S (Personnal Anchor System) from Metolius or equivalent)
- 7 large screw carabiners
- 2 x 120cm sewn-on straps
- 2 x 120cm sewn straps1 x 6 or 7 metre 7mm cord
- 1 x 1.5 metre 7mm cord
- 1 belay device (Reverso, ATC, etc.)
Recommended for outdoor activities:
- A basic first-aid kit
- Flashlight (headlamp if possible)
- A lighter
- Pocket knife
- Location: Stationnement du Chalet Anne Piché à Val-David.
- Meeting at 8:30 am
- Return at 4:30 pm

Transition sport lead climbing
Do you climb as a lead climber indoors on artificial structures and want to experience climbing outdoors?
Duration : 2 days – saturday and sunday from 8:30 am to 4:30 pm
Location: Parc Régional de Val David (Lien Google Maps)
Prerequisite
- Accreditation as lead climber in an indoor climbing gym
- Completion of the Transition PLUS course OR ability to set up a belay and abseil.
Age: 16 yeard old +
Is this your first outdoor sport climbing experience? Would you like to travel while climbing, whether in Quebec or elsewhere? This is the course for you.
You’ll learn how to fit your quickdraws and use the “stick clip” if the need arises. In addition, you’ll learn how to set up belays, whether on fixed anchors (anchors or pads) or natural anchors. Finally, we’ll look at abseiling and self-rescue techniques. You’ll be able to climb safely in a natural environment.
